Disgraced former star New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is taking to prison like a duck to water. Hernandez was sent to the iron bar hotel for life over his role in the murder of his buddy Odin Lloyd, a semi-pro football player and purveyor of weed to Hernandez. Lloyd had been affectionately nicknamed “the Blunt Master” before being gunned down by Hernandez and two of his home boy thugs from Providence. The trial was a sensation in a media infatuated with celebrity and was another ding in the image of the NFL which considering the moral quality of some players should rename itself the National Felon League. Hernandez is unique in that he is actually a stone-cold killer rather than a woman beater, doper, child abuser, cheater or general miscreant which is why he will adapt to prison life very nicely. He is already in trouble for his role in a gang-related fight this week.

As reported by Fox Sports in the story “Report: Aaron Hernandez involved in gang-related prison fight”:

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was involved in a prison fight Monday at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, Massachusetts, CNN reported.

Hernandez, who is serving a life sentence after being convicted of murder in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd in June 2013, was a lookout for another inmate who confronted another prisoner in that inmate’s cell, according to the report, citing a law enforcement source.

The two inmates engaged in what is believed to be a gang-related fight, CNN reported. Hernandez and the two inmates were disciplined, with Hernandez being put in a special management section, according to the report.

A Massachusetts Department of Correction spokesman declined comment ton CNN.

Hernandez had a previous mishap in February 2014, when he and an inmate being transported from the infirmary allegedly exchanged words. Hernandez, then allegedly punched the inmate, knocking him to the ground.

Hernandez was given a life sentence April 15, which his lawyers have since appealed.

Hernandez is expected to be in court next week for a status hearing, stemming from a double-murder trial in Boston. Hernandez is accused of shooting two men in 2012 after one caused him to spill his drink at a nightclub.

There is also that additional trial where Tom Brady’s former second favorite target will be up on two more murder charges over an incident that escalated from a spilled drink in a nightclub into Hernandez busting several caps into two dudes. It is a certainty that Mr. Hernandez will be spending the remainder of his days in prison but you have to hand it to the guy, he is very adaptable. In addition to already being involved in an incident of violence he is also sporting a brand spanking new gang tattoo on his neck. This guy is a world class gangster and never should have been drafted by the Patriots in the first place but winning and money always trumps character anymore.

Somehow I get the feeling that Hernandez’s greatest offense was in getting caught because otherwise he would still be playing in the NFL and people would still be buying his overpriced jerseys for their kids.
