While it may have been cathartic – to many including the candidate himself – Marco Rubio’s new persona as a Donald Trump insult spewing robot is undermining the meme that he is a serious man for serious and dangerous times. Trailing in the polls, losing states and depending on a brokered convention for a shot at the nomination, the sweaty little Cubano went attack Chihuahua on Trump at Thursday night’s Republican party debate much to the delight of a stacked audience. Rubio then hit the hustings to roll out his new shtick delivering jab after jab at the Donald in his speeches, even going to the fourth grade little boy’s room potty humor that Trump peed in his pants during the debate. While it may feel good the segue into being a Ricky Ricardo style entertainer is only going to harm Prince Marco in the long run so far away from the meticulously scripted performances that he had been programmed to deliver.

The Hill reports “Rubio mocks Trump for spelling, ‘spray tan,’ ‘Hair Force One’ plane”:

Marco Rubio is running for president, but it sounds like he would settle for a Comedy Central special.

Rubio on Saturday continued his mockery of rival Donald Trump, going after the businessman’s spelling errors and “spray tan” at a campaign event in Kennesaw, Ga.

“You guys wanna have a little fun today?” Rubio mischievously asked the crowd, holding up his cell phone.

“Last night he was actually pretty calm after I punched him around a little bit,” he said of Trump.

“He’s learning how to spell, I guess. But he’s flying around on Hair Force One and tweeting.”

The spelling dig was a reference to a series of mistyped Trump tweets Friday, where the business mogul repeatedly called Rubio a “chocker” and noted the “honer” of winning polls.

“So here’s the one tweet he put out, he put out a picture of me having makeup put on me at the debate,” Rubio said, referring to another Trump tweet from Friday.

“Which is amazing me to me, that the guy with the worst spray tan in America is attacking me for putting on makeup.”

The kicker: “Donald Trump likes to sue people; he should sue whoever did that to his face.”

It’s insanity to believe that Rubio’s descent into juvenile mode is going to improve his electoral chances outside of the dumbed-down demographic but nothing that the clown consultant class has done to this point has worked either.
