Ted Cruz was pancaked in Pennsylvania. From the iron city to the city of brotherly love as well as all points in between Republican front-runner Donald Trump trounced Ted Cruz in Tuesday’s primary. The damage wasn’t limited to the Keystone State either, Trump trounced Cruz in each of the five states that voted on Tuesday and maintains a yuuuge lead in the delegates. Sure there will be an increase in the delegate shaving and collusion on behalf of Tricky Ted and RNC but they are playing with fire with the screwing of Trump now having shed light on the rigged primary process that was set up to prevent exactly what is happening now – an outsider rising to power.
The New York Times reports “Donald Trump Sweeps 5 States; Hillary Clinton Takes 4”:
Donald J. Trump and Hillary Clinton barreled toward a general election showdown on Tuesday night as they dominated primaries in Pennsylvania, Maryland and other Eastern states, piling up enough delegates to close in on their parties’ nominations.
Looking past their fading rivals, the two even taunted each other in dueling election-night events. Mrs. Clinton chided the Republican’s penchant for harsh language by saying that “love trumps hate.” Mr. Trump was more bluntly dismissive of Mrs. Clinton, saying her appeal boiled down to her gender.
“Frankly, if Hillary Clinton were a man, I don’t think she would get 5 percent of the vote,” Mr. Trump said.
Mr. Trump had the more convincing performance on Tuesday: He swept all five primaries, winning landslides of more than 30 percentage points over his rivals, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Gov. John Kasich of Ohio. His routs represented a breakthrough: He received more than half the vote in every state, after months of winning most primaries by only pluralities.
Trumps big night is a signal that the great Cruz-Kasich alliance that was so trumpeted on Monday was stillborn. The voters continue to reject Cruz and his sleazy televangelist persona, a sign that outside of certain geographical areas that thumping his bible isn’t going to do the trick. Cruz though will continue with the delegate shaving operations in the hopes of making that brokered convention a reality although there are increasing signs that some feel that it will backfire big time.
As for Trump he is honing his blade for Hillary now. The comments about her cynical exploitation of the politics of the vagina are only the beginning too, he will soon get to NAFTA, Goldman Sachs and her role in the destabilization of the Middle East – and rise of ISIS – with the Libya debacle. It’s going to be one hell of a good show if the crooked GOP leadership doesn’t end up fucking it all up.
