There will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth today amongst the presstitutes as Donald Trump fired a warning shot across the bow of kingpin Jeff Bezos. During an interview with Fox News the presumptive Republican nominee blasted the monster that devoured the American retail sector as having a huge anti-trust problem and is getting over on taxes. Not only that but accused Bezos, who bought the Washington Post in 2013 of making that buy in order to curry favor with D.C. politicians in order to game the system.

The paper has a been teeming sewer of anti-Trump sentiment and in between pimping foreign wars that enrich those within Beltwayland there is nary a day when at least a half dozen attack pieces on the Donald aren’t vomited up by the house propagandists. The WAPO has amassed a veritable battalion of dirt-diggers under the command of gone to seed celebrity power suckler Bob Woodward to provide supporting fire for Hillary Clinton with an onslaught of sleaze and smears to help to shoehorn her rancid fat ass into the White House.

The Guardian reports that “Amazon ‘getting away with murder on tax’, says Donald Trump”:

Donald Trump has launched a frontal assault on, the world’s biggest online retailer, saying it has “a huge antitrust problem”.

In a television interview, the presumptive Republican nominee for the presidential race also said Amazon chief executive Jeff Bezos, who owns the Washington Post, was using the newspaper to influence politicians in order to help his company on taxes.

“This [Washington Post] is owned as a toy by Jeff Bezos, who controls Amazon,” Trump told Fox News. “Amazon is getting away with murder tax-wise. He’s using the Washington Post for power so that the politicians in Washington don’t tax Amazon like they should be taxed,.”

“He’s using the Washington Post … for political purposes to save Amazon in terms of taxes and in terms of antitrust,” Trump said, referring to the process whereby large US companies can be investigated for anti-competitive behaviour.

“He thinks I’ll go after him for antitrust. Because he’s got a huge antitrust problem because he’s controlling so much, Amazon is controlling so much of what they are doing,” Trump said.

“The whole system is rigged … whether it’s Hillary [Clinton] or Bezos.”

It’s an escalation in Trump’s threat to start holding the press – or at the weasels who claim to be reporters – accountable for their smears and they damned well should be. If this were a nation with a functioning free press – which it isn’t – then Trump would be way out of line. But in a land of failed and polluted institutions there is none more so than the media which today serves as a firewall between the American people and corporate and government power run amok. There is no way that things would never have gotten this bad in our once great country had the media not failed so catastrophically and quite possibly – willingly. The prime example of an agenda driven smear factory is the highly influential Washington Post which was already a neocon infested, liberal agitprop spewing shit-sprayer well before Bezos bought it.

Trump is absolutely correct in calling out Amazon and other corporations for rigging the game so as to dodge paying their fair share of taxes and the rats are running scared.
