In the manner of one seeking mediation from Chicago crime lord Al Capone to resolve a dispute, the old socialist Bernie Sanders will meet with Emperor Barack Obama at his headquarters on Thursday.  While Sanders will plead his case that he has been screwed by the Clinton friendly DNC it will be futile because Obama is going to endorse his opponent and has little tolerance for the old man. Now that Queen Hillary has been officially crowned as the Democrat nominee it’s time for the persistent old socialist to end his crusade and sell out his supporters despite his stubborn insistence at challenging the system. Ironic that it is going to be Mr. Obama who will give him the orders to yoke the slaves and deliver them to their new master.

As reported by the Hill “Obama to meet with Sanders Thursday”:

President Obama will meet with Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Thursday at the White House. The meeting, requested by Sanders, will come two days after Hillary Clinton declared herself the Democratic presidential nominee.

Obama called Clinton on Tuesday night to congratulate her on wrapping up the nomination.

“Her historic campaign inspired millions and is an extension of her lifelong fight for middle-class families and children,” the White House said in a statement.

The president also spoke with Sanders, thanking him for “energizing millions of Americans with his commitment to issues like fighting economic inequality and special interests’ influence on our politics,” according to press secretary Josh Earnest.

Sanders and Obama will meet in person Thursday, according to the press release, to “continue their conversation about the significant issues at stake in this election that matter most to America’s working families.”

“The President looks forward to continuing the conversation with Senator Sanders about how to build on the extraordinary work he has done to engage millions of Democratic voters, and to build on that enthusiasm in the weeks and months ahead,” the White House said in a statement.

Obama is believed to be close to officially endorsing Clinton for president.

The moment of truth is at hand for Bernie’s insurgent horde – the old braying old goat may insist on continuing his crusade but he has zero leverage with Obama who will squash him like a bug. While it may feel good to rage against the machine in the heat of the political battle they were always doomed and I suspect that the vast majority of them will quickly chuck their principles into the crapper to join up with Hillary who has conquered all.

Back in May I received an email from one of the Bernie supporters who has been badgering me for months over my daring to point out the reality that Sanders’ goose was cooked the minute he declared. There was little gloating but plenty of the typical delusion:

Getting there…. getting there. Americans are ready for socialism. I know they are ready if we can get past the media and other shills…..we’re almost there. check back when he wins. I have bets with my 2 sons for real cash, so I expect to be able to buy myself something nice soon.

I have been waiting for the other shoe to drop prior to responding but it’s going to be fun, she will probably have already moved on to backing Hillary though.
