Beltway superstar Paul Ryan continues to make his moves to take control of the Republican party after the meddlesome Donald Trump has been dealt with. Capping off a whirlwind week when he has given members of Congress the blessing to follow their conscience on whether or not to endorse the GOP’s presumptive nominee he is now coming closer to open warfare with Trump. The corporate Trojan Horse is threatening to sue a President Trump over his proposed temporary ban on Muslims. If Ryan is willing to sue Trump if he wins the election it is a fair question as to whether he would also be willing to impeach him.
The Hill reports “Ryan won’t rule out suing Trump over Muslim ban”:
Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) is indicating a willingness to sue Donald Trump if he tries to ban Muslims from entering the United States as president.
In an interview with The Huffington Post published Friday, Ryan didn’t rule out suing a Republican president over executive overreach.
“I would sue any president that exceeds his or her powers,” he said.
Still, Ryan didn’t say directly whether he thought Trump enacting a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. would exceed the limits of presidential authority.
“That’s a legal question that there’s a good debate about,” Ryan said, referring to the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act.
Trump has doubled down on the proposal after the massacre at a gay nightclub in Orlando on Sunday. The Speaker distanced himself from the idea again this week after previously condemning it late last year.
House Republicans this week unveiled another plank of their six-part policy platform, which is aimed at drawing a contrast with Democrats ahead of the elections. The plank released Thursday calls on the legislative branch to restore its authority over what Republicans see as executive overreach under President Obama.
Despite endorsing Trump, Ryan has said he will continue to express disagreements with the businessman when he feels conservative principles are being violated.
Ryan said in the Huffington Post interview that his endorsement of Trump doesn’t amount to a “blank check.” On Thursday, the Speaker told reporters at his weekly Capitol news conference that he doesn’t plan to rescind his endorsement.
“I don’t know what that line is,” Ryan said, “but right now, I want to make sure that we win the White House.”
The establishment continues to push Ryan as the future head of the Republican party which is good news if you are a Wall Street or Chamber of Commerce type that benefits from hordes of illegal aliens, job-killing globalist trade deals and the coming move to turn Social Security and Medicare over to the insurance and finance predators. Not so good news for Americans who have already been crushed by the uniparty and it’s slicker than spit on a griddle operatives like Speaker Ryan and his ilk.
The culmination of the anti-Trump campaign is going to come soon when Ryan revokes his endorsement of the candidate. He obviously learned his lesson after getting his scrawny ass chewed out by really big donor Pig Meg Whitman at the big Mitt Romney Never Trumper scheming session last weekend because he has been increasingly willing to attack the presumptive front-runner in the media.
The Donald should just do away with playing nice and drop the hammer on this rat bastard because you can be damned sure that Ryan is looking for a way to drop it on Trump.
