Seizing the really good crisis of the Orlando gay nightclub massacre to promote gun control as an election year issue, the Democrats have now exposed fully themselves as big government fascists. Their big sit-in on the House floor this week may have been an act more befitting of petulant kindergartners but it was a big hit with the media which is selling the anti-gun agenda harder than ever. Twisting what was a terrorist attack that was inspired by radical Islam into a gun control issue perfectly serves the federal government which can use the opportunity to continue to expand their secret watch lists such as the no-fly list to include the owners as well. Paranoia? Not when considering that the state of Hawaii is about to start providing info on gun owners to the feds for inclusion in one of their continuously expanding databases.
Reuters is reporting “Hawaii becomes first U.S. state to place gun owners on FBI database”:
Hawaii’s governor signed a bill making it the first state to place its residents who own firearms in a federal criminal record database and monitor them for possible wrongdoing anywhere in the country, his office said.
The move by gun control proponents in the liberal state represents an effort to institute some limits on firearms in the face of a bitter national debate over guns that this week saw Democratic lawmakers stage a sit-in at the U.S. House of Representatives.
Hawaii Governor David Ige, a Democrat, on Thursday signed into law a bill to have police in the state enroll people into an FBI criminal monitoring service after they register their firearms as already required, his office said in a statement.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation database called “Rap Back” will allow Hawaii police to be notified when a firearm owner from the state is arrested anywhere in the United States.
Hawaii has become the first U.S. state to place firearm owners on the FBI’s Rap Back, which until now was used to monitor criminal activities by individuals under investigation or people in positions of trust such as school teachers and daycare workers
“As you can imagine, the NRA finds this one of the most extreme bills we’ve ever seen,” said Amy Hunter, a spokeswoman for the National Rifle Association’s institute for legislative action.
The law could affect gun owners outside Hawaii, because the state requires visitors carrying guns to register, Hunter said.
The move to blur the lines between gun owners and others under the watchful eye of Big Brother for often vaguely defined or outright secret reasons is a terrifying prospect considering that it is possible that Hillary Clinton will win the election this year. Considering Mrs. Clinton’s past ravings about the “vast right-wing conspiracy” it’s even money that not only gun owners will be in the database but also political dissenters including Christians and pro-constitutional activists. Who knows, maybe Trump supporters will soon find themselves subject to increasing scrutiny once Hillary gets to appoint three or four full blown fascists like Cass Sunstein to the Supreme Court.
The cynical exploitation of the Orlando dead to restrict gun ownership is bad enough but a larger issue should be that there are secret watch lists to begin with. The no fly list is yet another example of how Americans were cowed into surrendering to fear in the aftermath of 9/11 and allowing the feds to exploit the attacks in order to justify a huge power grab that has been ongoing for fifteen years now. The very existence of such lists flies in the face of a free society and with there being little to no way to seek legal remedy if one ends up on the no fly list due to either an error or more nefarious reasons is something straight out of Stalin’s USSR. But the liberals not only back the no fly list but now want to expand it to deny citizens their Second Amendment rights.
