The answer to the country’s economic and job woes is easy for the Democrats – raise the minimum wage to fifteen bucks an hour. In their ongoing efforts to pander to unskilled, low income black and brown voters the blue jackass party is on the brink of officially making the $15 an hour minimum wage a plank in the party platform. The addition of the McJobs plank is an attempt to cajole stubborn old Bernie into surrendering and bestowing his formal endorsement upon Queen Hillary who has claimed that she wanted to be the “champion” of fast food workers.
As reported by the Hill “Sanders wins concessions in Dem draft platform”:
Bernie Sanders won a handful of concessions in the Democratic National Committee’s platform, with the party lining up behind his vision on the minimum wage, financial regulation and other issues.
A draft version of the platform was released Friday, amid an ongoing battle to get Sanders to end his presidential campaign and endorse presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
The platform explicitly calls for a $15 minimum wage, a position long espoused by Sanders.
“Democrats believe that the current minimum wage is a starvation wage and must be increased to a living wage,” the text reads.
We believe that Americans should earn at least $15 an hour and have the right to form or join a union. We applaud the approaches taken by states like New York and California. We should raise and index the minimum wage, give all Americans the ability to join a union regardless of where they work, and create new ways for workers to have power in the economy.”
It is hoped that the implied promise will entice armies of whopper floppers to become politically active this fall to put the scandal queen and the cigar store Indian into the White House. It’s not only a cynical ploy but also ironic as hell when considering that Hillary is a full-fledged whore of Wall Street and an insatiable devourer of corporate money.
The Dems are targeting the low-hanging fruit who are too ignorant to comprehend that globalist trade sellouts like the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and porous borders are a far greater economic problem than low wages. Not only are such realities ignored but the siren song of $15 an hour for fast food workers isn’t exactly an enticement for people to actually work towards improving their lot instead of being griddle jockeys for life. The social costs of a $15 an hour minimum wage are considerable and will be an abysmal failure to improve the lives of those who the Dems seek to appeal for over the long run. The only difference between a $7.50 per hour burger flipper and a $15 per hour one is the size of the paycheck, you still have an uneducated, unmotivated, low skill individual who has little to contribute to society – that only comes through the betterment of oneself though hard work and sacrifice.
The targeted voters are also being misled by the Democrats who fail to mention that the higher minimum wage is actually going to do them more harm than good. Fearing a loss of business when the higher wages drive the cost of a Quarter Pounder with cheese to ten dollars, fast food corporations are already in the process of automating. A kiosk will never botch an order, a robot won’t drop black curlies in the fries and both are coming soon to fast food restaurants throughout the land. The fact of the matter is that the Democrats are only hastening the process for the sake of political expedience.
Not that the truth matters to Hillary and the Dems though, the election will be over by the time that most of those who are being bamboozled figure out that they were sold a pig in a poke.
