The neoconservative husband of Hillary Clinton’s likely Secretary of State is suggesting that Donald Trump is mentally unstable. Robert Kagan took to the Washington Post to float a trial balloon on yet another anti-Trump meme that given his highly influential place in the neocon hierarchy will become a talking point throughout the media. Kagan along with Never Trumper Bill Kristol were the driving force behind the controversial neocon think tank the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) and after the brand name took a big hit they reformed under the new and improved Foreign Policy Initiative (FPI) as the lobbying firm for war and nation building. The pair has been the Lenin and Trotsky of the current era of permanent war. Trump is reviled by these people because he espouses an America first set of policies, doesn’t want to risk starting a thermonuclear war over the miserable shithole Ukraine and has called for the chiselers in NATO to pay their fair share.
In the column entitled “There is something very wrong with Donald Trump”‘ Kagan writes:
One wonders if Republican leaders have begun to realize that they may have hitched their fate and the fate of their party to a man with a disordered personality. We can leave it to the professionals to determine exactly what to call it. Suffice to say that Donald Trump’s response to the assorted speakers at the Democratic National Convention has not been rational.

The fact that Trump could not help himself, that he clearly did, as he said, want to “hit” everyone who spoke against him at the Democratic convention, suggests that there really is something wrong with the man. It is not just that he is incapable of empathy. It is not just that he feels he must respond to every criticism he receives by attacking and denigrating the critic, no matter how small or inconsequential. If you are a Republican, the real problem, and the thing that ought to keep you up nights as we head into the final 100 days of this campaign, is that the man cannot control himself. He cannot hold back even when it is manifestly in his interest to do so. What’s more, his psychological pathologies are ultimately self-destructive.
While the author does fess up that he “was a guest speaker at a fundraiser for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton” and that he claims to have “no role with her campaign” it’ not exactly honest when considering that Victoria Nuland will occupy a very prominent place in a Clinton regime.
The Kagans are a highly regarded family of sharks who swim within the power circles of imperial Washington and the policies that they have pushed have snaked through the last quarter of a century like a corpse-choked river of blood costing trillions in money and even more in human collateral damage. They are among the primary drivers of the dangerous escalation against nuclear powerhouse Russia and their think tank churns out much of the propaganda that Trump is in cahoots with Putin. Now the narrative will look to paint the GOP nominee as just plain nuts.
The WAPO Editorial page – led off by Kagan’s screed – is mounting a renewed push against Trump with the pieces “Is Donald Trump just plain crazy?” by Eugene Robinson, a real doozy by former Bush regime speechwriter Michael Gerson entitled “Dear Republican leaders: It’s not too late to dump Trump” that invokes slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King to push for the GOP kicking Trump out of the party and the Editorial Board’s renewed attempt to anoint Senator John McCain as the Trump slayer in the piece “Is the GOP turning on Mr. Trump?” – it’s a potpourri of propaganda.
However, with research now having uncovered some rather inconvenient details about Khzir Khan’s past dealings the rolling attacks against Trump and the millions who support him will continue to morph and playing the crazy card will be the meme of choice even if those who are dealing it are batshit themselves.
