Newly released documents on the FBI’s investigation into Hillary’s emails shows a mind boggling amount of mendacity. While the federal agency hyped their making the information public all week it was on Friday that it arrived, late in the day and just before a holiday weekend. To those who are cynical, the timing would seem to indicate yet another thumb on the scale when it comes to Hillary who is beyond reproach and above the law.

The report was riddled with Hillary’s obfuscation and invocation of a faulty memory on key points. Given her history of fibbing it is easy to conclude that she’s lying her ass off and considering that she wasn’t under oath there will be no consequences. But among all the “I can’t remembers” was a curious detail – a laptop that mysteriously and conveniently went missing.

According to Bloomberg News “FBI Says a Laptop That Held Clinton’s E-Mails Has Gone Missing”:

A personal laptop computer used to archive Hillary Clinton’s e-mails when she was secretary of state went missing after being put in the mail, according to the FBI’s report on its investigation into her use of a private e-mail system.

E-mails that Clinton sent and received through her private server during her tenure were archived on the laptop in 2013 by a person who was an assistant to former President Bill Clinton, the FBI said in its heavily redacted investigative report released Friday.

Someone whose name was redacted in the FBI report told the agency that he later deleted the e-mails from the laptop but didn’t wipe its hard drive. A computer technician can often recover such e-mails that have been deleted but not permanently erased from a laptop’s memory.

The FBI sought the laptop as part of its investigation, but it’s whereabouts remain unknown, the bureau said: The last time the laptop was seen was when it was put in the mail.

How very convenient. The missing laptop is consistent with a cover-up and the lost in the mail excuse is up there with the dog ate the homework. The only thing more ridiculous would be claims that the Russians stole it but they’re coming.

It’s long past time for a special prosecutor to be appointed and the for pasty demagogue in the Chairman Mao jackets to be grilled under oath.
