Donald Trump’s running mate is getting increasingly squeamish as of late and is dangerously close to becoming a loose cannon on deck. Indiana Governor Mike Pence is among those who are expressing shock – most of it feigned – over an 11-year-old tape of the billionaire outsider engaging in sexually explicit braggadocio when he was a private citizen. The tape – in which Trump used the word “pussy” – has been weaponized by the pro-Clinton forces in the corrupt media who along with their GOP Never Trumper cohorts have launched a devastating propaganda blitz against the candidate.
This is truly unprecedented in American history. Never before has the media treated the candidate of one of the two dominant parties as though he is an enemy of the state and once the election is over, whatever remains of democracy in America may lay in smoking ruins. With the establishment now doing whatever it takes to perform a late stage abortion on Trump’s candidacy and force Hillary Clinton down the throats of millions of Trump supporters, the rats are breaking for the lifeboats.
CBS News reports “Mike Pence: “I cannot defend” Trump’s words”:
After nearly a day of ignoring reporters’ queries on Donald Trump’s lewd 2005 tape where he discusses attempts to have sex with women, Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence is out with a statement condemning Trump’s comments.
“As a husband and father, I was offended by the words and actions described by Donald Trump in the eleven-year-old video released yesterday,” Pence said in a statement Saturday afternoon. “I do not condone his remarks and cannot defend them.”
After Trump’s late-night Facebook video statement apologizing for the 2005 comments, Pence said he was “grateful” that the real estate mogul “has expressed remorse and apologized to the American people.”
The Republican veep candidate added that he was looking forward to Sunday night’s presidential debate in St. Louis, where Trump would have the opportunity “to show what is in his heart when he goes before the nation tomorrow night.”
Pence, who was hastily scheduled to attend a rally with House Speaker Paul Ryan in Wisconsin this afternoon after Trump was disinvited, will no longer make an appearance with Ryan, according to an NBC News report.
On Friday night, Pence blasted the media at an Ohio rally following the Washington Post’s publication of the previously unaired Trump footage, where Trump can be heard bragging about how he would “grab [women] by the p****” and “just start kissing them” because “you can do anything.”
Without addressing the tape specifically, Pence said, “Invariably, they’ll say, this time we got him. This time we found that there’s another tweet come out or something. This time we got another thing, another issue that’s come forward. Then they turn on the next television the next morning, and Donald Trump is still standing stronger than ever before and fighting for the American people. And he is going to fight all the way to the White House.”
The Associated Press, however, reported Friday night that despite Pence’s staunch public defense of Trump, he was “beside himself” when he heard of the 2005 comments.
Pence posted his statement via Twitter:
Pence had previously showed that he had no spine when he caved in to the forced diversity Nazis last year over Indiana’s religious freedom law.
The media is getting plenty of mileage today over the Republicans who are either pulling their endorsements of Trump and in some cases, calling for their own nominee to quit the race and hand the White House to Hillary on a silver platter. It’s all very deceptively reported though, the ones who are getting all of the attention are all of those who never supported Trump to begin with and in cases like Utah Senator Mike Lee, actually attempted to mount a delegate coup against him at the convention.
Pence however could do what none of the rest of the yapping establishment types could do. He could inflict mortal damage on the Trump campaign by at this late stage demanding that Trump drop out which would benefit him enormously by making him the nominee – it would also put Hillary into the White House. He could then engage in an act of political terrorism by threatening to leave the ticket if he doesn’t get his way, don’t think for a second that there aren’t already overtures being made to him by the Never Trumpers and Teams Bush and Clinton.
What will Pence do? That is the most important question in America right now.
