The reaction from the big Silicon Valley tech behemoths after Donald Trump’s stunning election win has been fast and furious. Having pumped millions into the coffers of Team Hillary only to then watch their money essentially flushed down the toilet has elicited a rapid response that threatens to crush out free speech on many big social media platforms.
Liberals cheered as Twitter launched a Stalinist purge of conservative “alt-right” members under the pretense of stomping out hate speech. According to at least one report, the social media giant was using a list provided by Democratic party front group the Southern Poverty Law Center which is the same organization behind the witch hunt against Trump’s new White House strategist Steve Bannon.
Not only is Twitter crushing political dissent – something that Facebook has been doing for quite some time now – but Google’s CEO is also vowing to crack down on what the establishment has defined as “fake news” that is being blamed for Hillary’s loss of the election.
Now we have a loony leftist college professor who is being hailed by the media for her list of alternative media websites that she believes should be targeted for takedown. The list includes a number of popular anti-establishment outlets like Alex Jones’ Infowars, Zero Hedge, libertarian Lew Rockwell.com, Project Veritas and the biggest target of them all: Breitbart News.
Breitbart News reports on this chilling crackdown on legitimate political speech “It Begins: College Professor Lists Breitbart as ‘Fake News’ Site”:
Assistant Professor of Communication Melissa Zimdars of Merrimack College in Massachusetts has published a list of “fake news” websites that includes Breitbart News — even as the left and the tech giants are targeting “fake news” sites for destruction.
The list, posted online as a Google doc, is described as “for educational purposes only.” However, Google and Facebook are attempting to restrict advertising on “fake news” websites, which could effectively result in shutting many of the sites down.
Jessica Roy of the Los Angeles Times reports: “Breitbart, the “platform for the alt-right” whose chairman was just named Trump’s chief strategist, is on there, as is InfoWars.”
The Daily Caller reports that while Breitbart and other legitimate conservative new media websites appear on Zimdars’s “fake news” list, openly partisan left-wing sites like the Huffington Post — which attached a ridiculous disclaimer to its “reporting” on Donald Trump during the presidential campaign — are not included on the roster.
Zimdars includes Breitbart and other conservative sites “alongside objectively fake news websites like abcnews.com.co and MegynKelly.us,” the Caller notes.
President Barack Obama attacked “fake news” during the election, and irate Hillary Clinton supporters have blamed Facebook for costing her the election by allowing users to share information from “fake news” sites.
The glaring exclusion of left leaning, pro-Democrat websites shows that this is a politically motivated move by the Obama regime and it’s fascist allies to shut down free speech in America now that the mainstream media who are the real peddlers of fake news have been thoroughly discredited.
