Friday was the stuff of nightmares for the wounded and furious Democrats. Not only has Donald Trump’s chief strategist Steve Bannon NOT resigned, but a series of appointments by the President-elect shook the donkeys to their roots. The shock and awe announcements that Trump had bypassed the retreads like Rudy and Newt and appointed hardasses to three critical positions had liberals squealing like stuck pigs. None more so than Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions to the Attorney General position, a shot across the bow to the occupying brown army of illegal aliens and a chance to clean up the sewer that is Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch’s politicized Justice Department.
The naming of Sessions to the nation’s top law enforcement officer elicited objections from all of the usual suspects and shady “civil rights” organizations but the big whammy came later on when it was announced that the Donald had agreed to a $25 million settlement to the politically-motivated Trump University lawsuits. This is a running drop-kick to the crotch of Democrats who have been milking this baby for months and were anxious to use it to smear the incoming POTUS.
Reuters reports that “Trump agrees to pay $25 million to settle Trump University lawsuits”:
Donald Trump agreed on Friday to pay $25 million to settle fraud lawsuits over his Trump University real estate seminars, in what New York’s attorney general called a “stunning reversal” for the U.S. president-elect.
The lawsuits had dogged Trump, who denied any wrongdoing, throughout his campaign. They led to one of the more controversial moments of his run when he claimed the judge overseeing two of the cases was biased because he was of Mexican ancestry.
The settlement was announced by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who said it followed repeated refusals by Trump “to settle for even modest amounts of compensation for the victims of his phony university.”
Lawyers for Trump had argued against students, who claimed they were they were lured by false promises into paying up to $35,000 to learn Trump’s real estate investing “secrets” from his “hand-picked” instructors.
Three lawsuits relating to Trump University will be covered by the deal: two class actions suits in California and a New York case brought by Schneiderman. The agreement must still be approved by U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel in San Diego.
Trump will not admit any wrongdoing under the agreement. His attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, acknowledged Trump had previously vowed to fight the case.
The settlement demonstrated Trump’s desire to set his personal feelings aside in order to work on issues facing the county, Petrocelli said.
“President-elect Trump has laser focus on moving forward. It’s time to move on,” Petrocelli told reporters on Friday.
The late afternoon announcement was the cherry on top of the shit cake of the Democrat’s day and the settlement – which Trump could have chosen to forego and fight for his good name – deprives Bernie and his Bolsheviks of a talking point that they were planning on using against Trump. The biggest loser is the shady Mexican jurist Gonzalo Curiel who would likely have joined Sanders and Fauxahontas on the stump as they sought to appeal smear the incoming president as a racist con man but those plans just went up like the proverbial bag of flaming dogshit.
The Trump University lawsuits were fueled by a pack of whiny suckers who somehow thought that attending the costly sessions bearing Trump’s name would instantly land them on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and backed by a handful of disgruntled former employees. The one big thing that those get rich quick real estate schools never bother explaining when they are collecting the tuition dough is that it also takes a damned good amount of businesses acumen to be successful. The finest real estate schools in the land are useless if the student lacks drive, panache, excellent communication skills and a desire to bust their asses. If selling real estate and flipping properties was easy then practically everyone would be doing it and the economy would just be a booming. The sad truth is that there are millions who have dabbled in real estate and not made a freaking dime.
While it’s going to be hard to ever top the heaping of misery upon the Democrats that they endured last Wednesday morning when they awoke to headlines that Trump had beaten the daylights out of Queen Hillary to win the White House, today is a close second.
