One of the most sinister aspects of the Hillary Clinton campaign has been the rise of a new McCarthyism when it comes to trying to silence critics with accusations of being agents of Vladimir Putin. The Democrats fully embraced red-baiting after the release of hacked DNC emails detailing all manner of skullduggery and have never let go. Hillary herself accused Donald Trump of being a Kremlin puppet during the third debate, a new low in presidential politics that has only plumbed new depths after she went down to defeat. .

After Hillary lost (partially due to her demagoguery) the media and Democrats have launched a full blown onslaught against the alternative media. Combining the meme of “fake news” with smears of de facto being Russian agents the mainstream media is hard at work trying to eliminate the competition.

The lynchpin of the attack on over 200 independent media websites was a dastardly Thanksgiving Day article by WAPO tech reporter Craig Timberg centering around a blacklist assembled by a shady and secretive group that calls itself PropOrNot. In granting anonymity to a shadowy organization with questionable motives the crown jewel in the Jeff Bezos empire was blasted by numerous media figures including Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Glenn Greenwald who destroyed the paper with his piece “Washington Post Disgracefully Promotes a McCarthyite Blacklist From a New, Hidden and Very Shady Group”.

The New Yorker also slammed the WAPO’s disgraceful promotion of a blacklist in “The Propaganda About Russian Propaganda” and pointed out that it wasn’t “Russian” propagandists that were being targeted but any criticism of Hillary Clinton, the bloody fuck-cluster of the regime change obsessed U.S. foreign policy and any non-establishment sentiment whether it be from the right or the left:

The most striking issue is the overly broad criteria used to identify which outlets spread propaganda. According to PropOrNot’s recounting of its methodology, the third step it uses is to check if a site has a history of “generally echoing the Russian propaganda ‘line’,” which includes praise for Putin, Trump, Bashar al-Assad, Syria, Iran, China, and “radical political parties in the US and Europe.” When not praising, Russian propaganda includes criticism of the United States, Barack Obama, Clinton, the European Union, Angela Merkel, nato, Ukraine, “Jewish people,” U.S. allies, the mainstream media, Democrats, and “the center-right or center-left, and moderates of all stripes.”

But neither of the scathing counterattacks had the effect of one of the websites on PropOrNot’s blacklist. Left-leaning economics blog Naked Capitalism threatened to sue the Post for defamation, a move that got some results in a half-assed attempt to back away from the story by WAPO editors that was appended to the top of Timberg’s hit piece:

Editor’s Note: The Washington Post on Nov. 24 published a story on the work of four sets of researchers who have examined what they say are Russian propaganda efforts to undermine American democracy and interests. One of them was PropOrNot, a group that insists on public anonymity, which issued a report identifying more than 200 websites that, in its view, wittingly or unwittingly published or echoed Russian propaganda. A number of those sites have objected to being included on PropOrNot’s list, and some of the sites, as well as others not on the list, have publicly challenged the group’s methodology and conclusions. The Post, which did not name any of the sites, does not itself vouch for the validity of PropOrNot’s findings regarding any individual media outlet, nor did the article purport to do so. Since publication of The Post’s story, PropOrNot has removed some sites from its list.

The non-denial denial by the WAPO fell far short of the full retraction that Naked Capitalism had requested and legal efforts to compel Pravda on the Potomac for a full retraction are ongoing, there is also hope that some of the other sites that were defamed as Russian propaganda outlets by the Timberg’s scurrilous yellow journalism will also go after Jeff Bezos’ money. Naked Capitalism is also attempting to get the secretive PropOrNot to remove the blacklist under threat of legal action but given the group’s cowardly anonymous nature that is going to be a tough rock to roll so the Washington Post is going to have to suffice for any of those seeking legal remedy for being smeared as agents of a foreign enemy.

But fascist propaganda never sleeps and by Friday the WAPO which serves as the house organ for spooks with agendas and think tank warmongers was back pushing an incendiary – but again fake news – piece about a “secret’ CIA report claiming that the Russians interfered in the election. The story has already provided plenty of ammo for Democrats looking to overturn the results of the election as well as warmongering loons like John McCain and Lindsey Graham who have spent the last two days wailing to the corrupt media about the need for a special investigative tribunal of Russian election interference. The Glimmer twins have been joined by the heinously corrupt Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer and some other Dem schlub in what the media is hailing as a “bipartisan” call for immediate action to address the CIA’s evidence free claims in the leaked report.

If anything, the Washington Post is tripling down on anti-Trump propaganda and the coming week will see the entire editorial staff making the case for the Electoral College to reject Putin and his puppet Trump and install Hillary Clinton into the White House. Trump has managed to shake the world with his win but the establishment isn’t going to go down without one hell of a battle as is evident by the renewed hysteria accusing Trump of being a puppet of the Kremlin and the sixty million plus Americans who voted for him as traitors whose punishment should begin with disenfranchisement.

Joseph Goebbels would be proud.
